The Revival of Italian Piano Music: Rediscovering Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco

My doctoral project is dedicated to the rediscovery of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s piano works, tracing his journey from Italian compositions to those written in the United States.

For decades, Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s music has been almost absent from concert halls and recording studios, with the notable exception of his guitar works, which have received some recognition. Yet, his repertoire was once performed and celebrated in the world’s greatest music capitals, attesting to the significance and value of his artistic legacy.
