Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco

Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco Piano Works is a project that was created with the intention of bringing to light the piano compositions of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Although the latter is famous for his works for guitar, the piano has always been his favourite instrument.

Journey to Italy is a concert programme that opens with Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's first opera and continues with Opus 33 written in 1924, the year of his marriage to Clara. The chosen pieces outline the composer's characteristic traits and take the listener on a journey through time and space, to places dear to Mario Castelnuovo- Tedesco, such as his beloved Florence, Castiglioncello, Giramonte and Naples.
